News & Events – December 9, 2014

Thank you to all who have brought in shoes for our Giving Tree. For those of you who’d like to participate, you still have time! Please grab a tag from the tree, shop for, and bring in the new athletic shoes by December 19th.

Another cool way to get your family involved is to ask your kids to come shopping with you. One of our fellow kettlebellers, Angela did this and I wanted to share it with all of you. Instead of you going and buying the shoes yourself, bring your kids and let them pick out shoes, in their size, for a someone in need.

Happy shopping!

Save the Date!

We know, we know, you’re just trying to make it to the end of the year. But we want you to put Saturday, January 11th from 5pm – 7pm on the calendar. Correction: Saturday, January 10th from 5pm-7pm!

We’re having an Open House! Bring your friends and show them what you do every week and how you’ve been getting so strong and fit. We know that kettlebells may sound crazy or intimidating, but you all know that once you try it, it’s hard to find something that gets more work done in less time. And being the busy people you are, you know how important it is to get a quick, efficient workout in.

Come by for:
– a kettlebell demo
– appetizers & drinks
– door prizes to include FREE personal training & group classes
– and much more!

January Challenge and More workshops coming up…

We know you’ll all want to start a 2015 Challenge when January rolls in. We’re currently discussing details of what and how we’re going to structure this one. We’ll fill you in as soon as we have all of the information, but we’ll start the challenge on Monday, January 5th! Get ready!

Skills Workshops are on the calendar for January and February.
– Our first one of the New Year will be a Turkish Getup Workshop at 9am on Saturday, January 31st.
– The second will be a Snatch Workshop at 5pm on Friday, February 27th.

Also, something to keep in mind… The Tactical Strength Challenge is in April and October every year and it’s run by StrongFirst. You can compete against everyone in the world who competes on that day. The TSC consists of Max Barbell Deadlift, Max Number of Strict Pullups, and Max Number of Kettlebell Snatches in 5 minutes. If we get enough interest in our gym, we may host the Challenge but we’ll definitely get training groups together starting late January.
