What a year it has been, both personally and professionally. So much has happened! At the gym, we hosted two really successful Tactical Strength Challenges. I was so proud of everyone who trained, trusted the process, competed, pr’d, & had fun along the way! The group in April got everyone warmed up to the process. In less than one week, you all brought in over $1000 in gifts for this local family who really needed help this holiday season. We’re making this November challenge and annual thing. As we approach the holiday season, we want everyone at NBKB to make an effort to MOVE MORE! Last year, we did 100 swings/day for every day in November. And we gave money to the Boys & Girls Club of San Clemente – people who help kids MOVE MORE. Class Changes Tuesdays & Thursdays: TRX & Bodyweight class has been awesome! You’ve asked for it to be bumped up to 8:30am. Kettlebell Quickie Class has been added following the TRX & BW Class at 9:15am. Stay for a quick kettlebell butt-kicker. This is not about your attitude toward each other. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the North Beach Kettlebell Community has some of the kindest, most generous, most beautiful souls you will ever meet. I adore each and every one of you. And you’re all very nice. To each other. You cheer each other on during training sessions. You get excited for your friend’s first pull-up or when they move up to a heavier swing weight. By now, we know that the Tactical Strength Challenge is: Max Deadlift Max Number of Pullups OR Max Time for Flexed Arm Hang Max Number of Snatches for 5-minutes What makes the TSC special? Strong people will naturally do well in the deadlift, but they may not do well in the pull-ups.
